Early in the 20th century, production of the worlds food supply required at least half the populations labor. Todays agricultural workforce is a fraction of that, thanks in large part to advancements made by biological and agricultural engineers. Still, our limited natural resources demand that we produce more with less and that higher productivity does not degrade our environment.

Thats why ASABE members live and work in a world of innovation. You might find them enhancing food and feed production through new biological techniques, helping to curb erosion, developing safer, more efficient farm equipment, or finding new ways to keep foods fresher and transport them to market even faster. Our discipline is as diverse as the world we live in . . . and as important as the life we enjoy.
